Essentials Dance Company Spring Show- Since 2001 when Essentials Dance Company was founded, our annual Spring Show has always been a highly anticipated event for dancers and families alike. This end of the year performance is a great opportunity for dancers to showcase what they have learned. Throughout this process, dancers will gain stage experience, learn to work as a team, and build self-confidence, all while having fun! While participation is optional, we highly recommend all dancers participate in this exciting event to get the most out of their EDC experience. The Spring Show fee can be paid in full at the discounted rate of $65.00 by September 1st or in three monthly installments $25.00 each due September 1st, October 1st, and November 1st. All dance classes will perform one routine and have one costume. If your dancer would like to perform in multiple routines, simply sign up for additional classes or join our prestigious competitive team. Tumbling classes do not perform in the spring show, however, skills learned in the tumbling classes are incorporated into their dance routines. Tickets to the show will be available for purchase prior to the show.
Awards- Awards will be given for perfect attendance, 5 year students, and 10 year students. All previous consecutive years at Singleton will be counted. Perfect attendance is awarded ONLY if you attend ALL of your classes.
Tuition – All tuition is due the first of the month in the office and should be made payable to Singleton Community Center. If your payment is received after the 10th of the month, you will be charged a $5.00 late fee. Tuition will be half for the months of August and December.
Attendance – Attendance is very important for your child, as well as, the teacher and fellow students. If a student misses more than 6 classes, she/he may NOT be able to participate in the Spring Show. Students should arrive 5-10 minutes before class. Every child should visit the restroom before class starts, as restroom breaks are limited to emergencies only. The teacher cannot leave the classroom so a parent would need to be present for a child to be let out of the class for any reason.
Make-Up Classes – If a dancer must miss a class, you can check with your teacher to see if another class is available. However, making up in a different class will not be allowed after December due to Spring Show preparation. If your teacher becomes ill or has a conflict, she will either provide a substitute teacher or a make-up class will be scheduled.
Studio Closings – If inclement weather causes cancellations, tuition will not be adjusted, nor will classes be made up. Essentials Dance Company follows the Bartlett Schools inclement weather policy. If Bartlett Schools are closed due to inclement weather then classes are canceled for that day.
Curriculum – Our base recreational class for any age is a ballet/jazz combo technique class. For ages 3-4 we focus on this technique in a creative, fun, and stimulating atmosphere, while learning dance steps, terminology, and developing age appropriate motor skills. At age 5, dancers can add hip-hop, tap, and/or tumbling to their training plan.
Class Placement – Initial class placement will be made by EDC Staff, based on age, previous experience, and class performance.
Dress Code – All dancewear and shoes must be purchased from Essentials Dance Company. Our dress code is one of the many ways we are able to create a family feel among dancers. Dancewear requirements are as follows:
